Our Trip to the Caribbean Islands of Martinique, Dominica and Les Saints.  We took this trip on a Charter Catamaran in June 2022 (before our boat was ready).  We had my Sister Joanna, Brother-in-law Greg, along with Cousins Dennis & Susie.  Plus a couple Good Friends Kim & Steve, on their First Time Sailing.

Martinique was where we picked up the Catamaran.  Martinique is a part of France and everywhere we looked you definitely saw and felt France.  It was Wonderful.  We visited St Anne, a beautiful little Beach Town.  Also visited the Capital Fort de France a truly French Cosmopolitan City.  Then up to St Pierre.  St Pierre was destroyed in 1902 by Mt Pele Volcano.  In fact 30,000 people vanished with 1, yes 1 Survivor.  Hiking up to the Top of Mt Pele is an adventure not to be missed.  Also while in St Pierre we met up with friends Don & Heather who are on their own Sailing Liveaboard Adventure.

Next up we Sailed onto Dominica.  Dominica is ofter skipped as its an Island not dominated by beautiful beaches.  But I am here to tell you, don’t Skip Dominica.  This is the Most Beautiful Island in the Caribbean, not opinion, FACT!  They call it the Garden Island for good reason.  This island is dominated by beautiful scenery, lush landscapes and incredible Fresh Grown Food.  We took 4 guided tours to explore.  We visited home farms, mountain hikes, Pirates of the Caribbean Movie Sites and a journey down the Indian River.  All Fantastic!  The people of Dominica are incredible.  Make the Journey to Dominica…..

Our final destination were the Les Saintes of Guadalupe.  A beautiful little island with a quaint beach town with a great harbor.  We also hiked up the hill to visit Fort Napoleon (he was never there though).  The Sunsets are Awesome.  On one hike along the oceanfront we came upon an 1800’s Outpost that now doubles as a Goat Sanctuary.  If your looking for an authentic little French Seaside Retreat, Les Saintes in the answer.
